So I've finally decided to write a blog to keep people up on my regular life. My roommate, Jane has her own blog that she started in which she took a picture every day and posted a blog about it. I'd like to embark on a similar endeavor. So, today I begin with a mini explanation of where I'm at and where this blog will go.
I'm currently teaching at Gramercy Arts High School in Manhattan, NY. AVID is a program geared at teaching writing, reading, and organizational skills in order to get kids to go to college and succeed there. I've been asked to be the coordinator of the program, and I teach the elective class that teaches them all of these skills for success. I live in an area of Manhattan called Hellsgate...it's really the void between East Harlem and the Upper East Side.
